RAMSTEIN AIRSHOW DISASTER

During the airshow the aircraft were performing a stunt called the pierced heart in which several aircraft fly upward creating the shape of a heart and an aircraft flies through thus piercing the heart. During the maneuver the aircraft creating the heart didn't fly high enough and far enough apart and the piercing aircraft flew straight through two aircraft in the heart formation.

Immediately after the in air collision the piercing aircraft hit the runway and plowed into the spectating crowd sending flying wreckage and a burning fireball of fuel from the fuselage. One of the two aircraft hit in the heart formation went spiralling out of the sky and stuck a medical helicopter which was also destroyed. The pilot of this aircraft had ejected but collided with the pavement dying instantly. The other aircraft that was hit in the heart formation disintegrated sending even more wreckage into the crowd.
